From the recording Dark Spaces
Lyrics
I stumble through a barren wasteland,
Of broken hearts and crushed souls.
Bleeding from a thousand burning cuts,
Made from the keen, cold blade of love.
Lost souls cry out in despair and agony,
As they wander blindly through the gray mists.
Calling out to one another with empty hearts,
Sharing a common bond that is called misery.
Please help me find my way back home,
Where I can walk in the light of day.
Under the bright blue skies I will roam,
Hold out your hand and take me away.
The hopeless gather around cold, dead fires,
Appealing to their gods for a measure of warmth.
Their hazed, colorless eyes downcast on the ground,
Seeking nothing, finding nothing, feeling nothing.
The skies open up and the burning tears of angels,
Drown the faithless with contemptuous disregard.
Forcing the downtrodden to seek refuge upon islands,
Of daggers and razors, never feeling the wounds.
There are no sun filled days nor any moonlit nights,
By which the wayward may navigate to forgiveness.
Where happiness is as illusive as a spring rain,
And love, charity and kindness sadly turn away.
Please help me find my way back home,
Where I can walk in the light of day.
Under the bright blue skies I will roam,
Hold out your hand and take me away.
